1. Rich fields in Forms

Hive Forms serves a variety of purposes and use cases. To make it easier to highlight important or significant information, we've added a hotkey to bold, italicize, and underline for any text field answers. Form formatting will carry over to the completed card/project.

This is helpful for teams who need to customize or emphasize information on their forms. To bold or italicize text, highlight the selected text and press "command + B" or "command + i".

2. Open in new window

We've made it easier than ever to keep your Hive organized. For our users who like to keep their data at a glance or multi-task between Hive Apps or projects, you can now open tabs in a new window.

In the left navigation panel, hover over the desired app, click the new three dot menu and select "Open in new tab". Voila! A separate tab in your browser will populate with the designated app/project.

For desktop users, simply open a new browser window to route to the desired app or project.

3. Billable and non-billable time categories

Currently, all time-tracking categories bill at the same rate (either the user's bill rate or the project-level override). We understand some users need to track non-billable time to a project without it affecting the overall project budget, as well as see the relationship between billable and non-billable time for a given project.

Now, when non-billable is selected, no bill rate is applied to that time entry, and nothing is subtracted from the budget. All additional categories apply the default or project override bill rate. This is helpful for any supervisors who need to create reports or keep track of budget and billing for each project in their workspace.

Please note: Non-billable cannot be deleted from anywhere within Hive, as recreating a category with the same name may not apply a new bill rate.

To see this in your workspace, make sure Time-tracking is enabled by going to Hive Apps -> Time-tracking and toggling it on. Navigate to the associated action card, and add time in the time-tracking app. Depending on your preferences, select either "Billable" or "Non-billable) for the Category.

4. Hide project overview from external users

For users who work with external users across different organizations, privacy settings are ultra-important. Previously, external users were able to see all aspects of Project Overview. This created an issue for teams who needed to keep specific info like budget, project status, and attachments confidential.

Now, only internal users are able to see Project Overview. This will allow teams to keep specific information private, maintaining the confidentiality of the project.

Thank you to Matt from Scriberia and Stephanie at Tachmed for voting on this feature!

5. Duplicate project warning

Currently, users can create projects with the same name as active projects, creating a copy with the same name. This makes it difficult to differentiate between projects.

To minimize confusion, users will now receive a warning letting them know that they are duplicating a project. When creating a new project name, if the title matches an existing project in the workspace, users will receive a notification.

Please note: This does not prohibit users from creating a project with the same name! The notification is just a warning.

Thank you to Dianne from Langrand and Sam at Alzheimer's Research UK for voting on this feature!
