As the first project management software built by users, for users, Hive strives to put out new features every week based on user feedback. This week, we have three new features share! Keep voting and requesting on the features you want to see in the Hive Forum. #DemocraticallyBuilt
1. Account for holidays in resourcing utilization
Teams reporting on utilization and resourcing at a high level require time and allocation to be accurately tracked. To help reduce manual updates, resourcing utilization will now account for all holidays when calculating resourcing percentage. For example, if a user has a normal 40 hour week and works 20 hours, they would be 50% utilized. But if there is a holiday on one of those days, they would be 62.5% utilized.
To customize your holiday calendar, go to your profile picture dropdown > Workspace settings > Settings. You will then be able to customize your calendar and holidays.
Thank you to Matthew from Bionical for requesting this feature!
2. Reminder button for internal approvers
In the past, our only external users had a "Reminder" button to help remind clients of outstanding tasks without having to send a manual message.
We heard from many Hive users that a similar button would be useful internally as well. Internal Hive users now also have the capability to send reminder emails. The functionality and location of the button is the same, but will not show up for internal approval requests.
Thank you to Thao from Apex, Joel from Genovations, Monica from Citizens First Bank, and Reerang at Merkury for voting on this feature!
3. Lock a portfolio view
With this update, admins and project owners will be able to lock portfolio views, making them uneditable and unshareable. This will be helpful to managers who want to keep high-level information unchanged. Now, if a portfolio view is locked, it will be editable for admins or portfolio view owners only.
This is what the share modal will look like for admins and owners:
For all other parties, the share modal will denote "Read only" access, and the requirement of reaching out to the project owner to gain access.
Thank you to Diana from Silgan for requesting this feature! Want to catch up on all of the past updates in Hive? Check out our video series on YouTube, and check back weekly for exciting new features!
