4 Zapier Integrations To Connect With Hive To Streamline Your Office Work Efforts

The internet can be such an inspiring place. Often, however, we end up having a very tumultuous relationship with the world wide web and everything it has to offer. Overbearing news alerts and press briefings crop up throughout the day, unintentional death scrolls and deep dives into peoples’ personal data, and misinformation abound. Now, there are added positives and negatives that come with it all when dealing with a remote or hybrid working environment.

So, how do we harness the best of the internet to streamline our productivity and give way to a whole new level of innovation within our respective work boundaries? How do we make workflows and processes simple, and navigate the digital space with more ease and grace? A simple solution was actually founded in the heart of America by recent college graduates in Columbia, Missouri in 2011. It was then introduced to the world and launched in its initial form in 2012, offering integration with 34 apps. In 2016, it surpassed 1 million users, and now has over 4,000 app integrations available, with new ones updating weekly.

Zapier creates inter-app automation

In a sea of millions of apps, what makes this particular one so special? Zapier was created with simplification in mind. It connects to web-based apps to create automated workflows across platforms, so that repetitive tasks can be reduced in the workspace. Things as simple as follow-up emails with prospective clients, adding a new social media channel to your scheduling platform, or onboarding new hires are now more easily accomplished with Zapier. And you don’t have to pay megabucks for one platform that promises to do it all, only to fall short in one area or another.

Zapier’s developer platform keeps integrations ahead of the curve

Because the Zapier team launched a developer platform, brands had a way to reach out and join in on the integration hype. Just like with advertising scenarios, partnering with Zapier can give your digital brand access to all of their users–both paid and free–, in turn giving you more facetime with potential users and paying customers. This makes connecting your tech with theirs a win/win situation across the board.

How to get started with Zapier

To start using Zapier, simply sign up for the free (14-day) trial and choose the trigger and the result you’d like to come from that trigger. Each time the Zap happens, it will securely share information from one app to the other, with no outside help. In effect, it rids you of the mundanity of task checks on a daily basis.

And fortunately for Hive users, we’ve established a partnership with Zapier to connect Hive with thousands of the most commonly-used work tools on the market. Here’s how you can get started.

Using Zapier in Hive

zapier hive

While Hive has its own workflow tool – Hive Automate – Zapier is a great way to share information across all of your platforms and make everything at work much easier.

Here’s how to set up the integration and start creating Zaps in Hive:

  1. Authenticate Hive and Zapier by navigating to the ‘My Apps’ section of your Hive dashboard and toggling ON the Zapier app.
  2. Once you’ve navigate inside the Zapier integration, you will be prompted to pick a trigger and the app it will come from, which will kick off your automation. If you choose a trigger in Hive, these will look something like:
    – New Action
    – Updated Action
  3. Next, choose a resulting action from the other app. If the resulting action is taking place in Hive, it could include things like:
    – Copy Project
    – Create Action for Project
    – Create Action for Workspace
    – Update Action
  4. Select the data you want to send from one app to the other.

All information for integrating the two platforms–which can be completed in a matter of moments – can be found here.

The Best Zapier Integrations

If you’re already set up, or you’re close to pulling the trigger, here are some great Zapier integrations that might inspire you to start automating today:

1. Office 365

Many corporations use Microsoft Office 365 as one of their more well-rounded email platforms. Now, you can turn emails from your inbox into Hive actions. This is perfect for people who receive pitches regularly, as it can help you keep things organized and in front of the right team members. It is also outstanding for setting up timely topics and subject lines to be sent directly to your workspace, so you don’t have to sift through an entire inbox to find any one thing.

2. WordPress

Any company that hosts a website or publication on WordPress will be pleased with the WordPress integration. When a new post or page goes up on your site, you can trigger it in connection with Hive to alert people throughout the company of site updates. This can help get your content shared across employees’ personal platforms and keep everyone thoroughly abreast of company press releases and other advancements.

3. Parcy

If your company wants to run events online, this is the app to have at your fingertips. You can live broadcast and create community rooms to engage with your audience. This app is perfect for any company that wants to engage their audience in continued education, teach people about their product or even host “lunch and learn” types of events for their staff. Luckily, You can create Hive messages for new Parcy attendee registrations. The integration of these two apps can help to keep track of your growing community and any feedback that may come from your events.

4. Upkeep

This one is a bit more niche than the aforementioned capabilities. If you’re running a more operations-focused business, integrating Hive with Upkeep can actually automate work orders and streamline facilities management options. This can apply to physical venues such as restaurants, churches, athletic facilities, gyms, schools, and more.
