Remote Work

How Teams Are Using Hive to Work Remote

It’s a challenging time for individuals, teams and organizations around the world. As we transition into this totally new way of working, many adaptations need to be made to keep organizations productive. And while productivity is important, it’s also crucial to remember that we’re all going through a pandemic and massive global health crisis first and foremost. This collective trauma that we’re all facing is unlike anything most of us have experienced before, and it’s important to remember that this isn’t just a time of “working from home.” It’s a time of attempting to work from home during a global health crisis, while taking care of our families and the people around us, in addition to our mental, physical and emotional health.

With all of that information in mind, we want to let everyone know that we’re more dedicated than ever to supporting individuals, teams and organizations to help them stay communicative and healthy during this time. Whether that means providing additional resources, logging extra hours at our Help Desk, or publishing several remote work articles per month to provide the necessary levels of support, we’re ready.

Additionally, Hive is inherently a remote work tool, so we have an unmatched ability to help teams during this remote work transition. We asked some of our biggest Hive power users to round up some of the ways that Hive has helped them during this transition, in hopes that it will help even more people better utilize Hive to work smarter throughout this crisis. Ahead, learn how some of our biggest customers have been utilizing Hive to work remote.

How Hive Has Helped Teams Transition to Remote Work

Cushman & Wakefield

“Since implementing Hive, our team has truly transformed the way we work. Particularly, during the COVID-19 crisis where we are not able to meet in person.

Hive helped streamline our day-to-day processes. With Hive, we have overhauled our organization and client management. Our centralized Hive dashboards and status (Kanban) view give us an overarching picture of where we stand with each client. Additionally, all of the information we need for each client account is streamlined in one place.

We have seen a huge uptick in usage of the platform during remote working, and it has kept everyone locked in and accountable. Hive’s customer success team has also been extremely helpful – they have been there every step of the way to answer questions and provide guidance.”

“Hive continues to be a huge asset for us, especially as we transition to this indefinite period of remote working. We are continuing to enforce the same workflow and “policies” around working in Hive; the PM team is, however, more closely plugged in to the tasking that is going on across the team within the system. Other than that, Hive is, as always, a life saver and an invaluable tool for us here at Decoded!”

“Before Hive, it was difficult for everyone to understand what their teammates were working on. We needed a clear outline of what was expected from us in each project so we were able to prioritize. We also didn’t have a succinct way to track capacity limit, or identify availability of contributors when blending projects.

Since we started using Hive, it’s been so much easier to establish an overarching view of where projects stand and set clear priorities. Hive provides a clear global view that helps everyone understand plans and projects as they develop – which is imperative for everyone across the organization and team.

As we’ve started transitioning into this time of widespread remote work, Hive has been crucial for our team. Without face-to-face interaction, communication can be tough. With Hive, we are able to see which tasks are in progress, what is due, and what questions arise. With the current state of the nation, there are many adjustments the world is making, and we’re doing our best to keep up with them. Hive allows us to keep up with the changes throughout project lifecycles and continue to be there for our customers.”

Twist Creative

“Before Hive, we had some tools in place, however, nothing that was user friendly and that everyone on the team – from management, to account services to creative – could easily access, update and understand. We knew we needed to find ways to be efficient and streamline our process, which is what led us to search for a project management system.

Hive has made us more efficient and flexible. What would have needed to be a meeting previously is now a quick chat. It’s also brought our team closer together. We’re connected but can also continue to work on other projects and manage our workload through the tools provided.

With the recent move to remote work, it has been a complete game changer – a year ago work from home would have been much more difficult. The minute we had to change to remote work, we continued moving forward. We’ve been communicating daily and our client work hasn’t stopped once. Instead of worrying about the logistics of a new workflow, Hive has allowed us to focus on what really matters which is important during a crisis like this.”
