New This Week In Hive: July 11, 2022

1. Auto-set OOO Message

It’s summer, which means you are likely taking a few days (or weeks) off to relax. Whether you’re taking a tropical getaway ???? or staycation ???? this summer, we’ve made it easier to *fully* be OOO.

We have added an automatic OOO status in Hive to correspond with your Google or Outlook status. Members of your workspace will be alerted if they try to assign or @mention you in an action or project.

Please note: Your calendar and email inbox must be synced with Hive to ensure the connection works. To double-check this is enabled, visit Hive Apps and make sure both Hive Calendar and Hive Mail are toggled on.

If you haven’t scheduled a vacation, this is your reason to do it. ????

Thank you to Pierre at Adelphi and Maryellen at Cartus for requesting this feature.

2. Reject and Resubmit Form Changes

Following along the theme of Forms improvements, this week’s update allows users to reject and request changes in form submissions. Many teams in Hive use forms for various aspects of project intake. The form requestor can now reject forms from submitters, whether it be for lack of or incorrect information. This eliminates the back-and-forth and speeds up the form intake process, while saving a draft of the current form rather than starting from scratch.

To request changes in a form, select the three “more” dots in the upper right corner of the associated action card, and select “Request changes.”

Once selected, the requestor will then be able to send a message noting changes to be made.

Thank you to Diana from Silgan for requesting this feature!

3. Hive Automate Recipe: Bamboo HR Employee Created -> Hive User Created

Our recipe this week eliminates a step (or two) from our HR team’s onboarding to-do list. If your team uses Bamboo HR, you can automate the process of adding the new employee into Hive. When an employee is created in Bamboo HR (trigger), a new user is automatically created in your Hive workspace (action).

To use this recipe, visit our Recipes page in Hive Automate.
