If hybrid work has taught us anything, it’s that keeping information centralized is more important than ever before. Teams may be working towards the same end goals, but the day-to-day for each member is different. Disparate communications and conflicting projects can make it difficult to stay on top of your individual action items and know how you are pacing.
The context switching between different tools, windows, and projects doesn’t make it any easier.
That’s why we’re introducing Pages, your new personalized dashboard for the information that matters to you the most.
Think of Pages as your personalized homepage for all of the most important things (to you) in your organization’s workspace. Widgets are the building blocks of Pages, which pulls in information from Hive Apps and project data, as well as intel from other websites.
Additionally, Pages data will be viewable in multiple formats. We knew when we created Hive that everyone viewed and digested information differently, so this was essential to us when developing Pages as well. Whether you want to view all project data in one place or visualize your individual in a graph or chart, Pages is fully customizable.
Pages is available to all Hive users, regardless of plan. To access Pages, go to Apps -> Workspace Apps, and scroll down to Pages. From here, you can choose to pin it to your left sidebar. Toggle Pages on to begin using it and click into the app to begin.
Getting Started in Pages
To create your first Page, select the “+” icon. We often advise users to create a scratchpad for their first page – add widgets and organize them later.
Once the Page has been created, you will be prompted to select whether or not you want to make your Page visible to everyone, shared with specific people or private to you (don’t worry, you can change your mind later).
The last set up step is to give your Page a name (also able to be edited later). From here, select the first widget you would like to add to your dashboard.
Note: more widget options are available after adding your first one.
Like we’ve said, you can use your first Page to explore the functionality and learn what information would be useful (or not) in this format.
After adding your widget, you’ll be able to customize the associated projects and tasks, data, or other information. Voila – your first widget! We’d always recommending having at least three widgets per page, just to ensure that the Page is actually useful. However, you can add as few as one widget, or as many as you’d like.
When you go to add a second widget, you’ll navigate to your Widget Library. From there, you can choose from the following additional views:
-
Bar Chart
-
Pie Chart
-
Table
-
Notes
-
File Library
-
Numbers
-
Text
-
Embed (custom links and websites)
Note: If you plan to Embed a website, keep in mind that this is contingent upon the website’s security permissions (if they allow embeds on external pages).
Additionally, you can Group your Bar Chart Widget by Assignees, Labels, or Statuses.
Goals in Pages
We’ve made it easy to combine our two of our favorite number-driven Hive apps. To add Goals into your Page, select “Add Widget,” and Your Widget Library will populate. Select “Goals,” and a new Goal will magically appear on your Page! Click “Add goal” and select which applicable Goal you’d like to track in your Page.
View Modes
To help make your Page even more customizable, you also have the choice of two different views: Edit Mode and View Mode. In Edit Mode, you can move and configure widgets on the page at any time. We recommend staying in Edit Mode as you customize your Page. Once your Page is set up, or you’d like to share the finished product with others, select View Mode, which locks the widgets’ position and configuration. We suggest using View Mode when your page is complete or ready to be shared with others!
Further Customization
You have several different ways to make your Page your own, all found in the Menu bar at the top-right corner of your Page. From here, select “Edit” in the dropdown. In the settings menu, you have several options:
- Change your Page’s name
- Adjust privacy settings
- Select included projects
Done with your Page? Want to start over from scratch? In the Menu dropdown, you have the option to delete your page. Please note: Pages are not recoverable, so once it’s deleted, it will be removed from your workspace entirely. We recommend only deleting a Page if you are absolutely confident you will not need to get it back. No take-backs!
Sharing Your Page
Want to show your off Page to others? Select “Share” in the Menu dropdown, and a link will automatically be pasted to your clipboard. Yep, it’s that easy! When others open your Page, they will need to log into Hive first. From there, your Page will be available to them!
