Our Favorite Influencers To Follow On LinkedIn

LinkedIn is the premiere social network for business professionals and career-oriented content. It’s estimated that LinkedIn has over 610 million users across the world, with 90 million of that group qualifying as senior-level influencers. Plus, 28% of all males on the internet use LinkedIn, and 27% of all women on the internet use LinkedIn. Those are insane statistics.

That means that there’s absolutely tons of content to shuffle through, and while your LinkedIn feed might be helpful for digesting content from your friends and coworkers, following LinkedIn influencers is another great way to diversify your homepage. But we know it’s hard to comb through the internet abyss to identify new people to follow, which is why we’ve done the leg work for you. Ahead, find a few of our favorite people to follow and engage with on LinkedIn. Happy scrolling!

Gary V.

This might be an obvious one for those of you who are well-versed on LinkedIn, but his inspirational videos and content are well-thought out, insightful, and filled with great advice. As the CEO and founder of Vayner Media, Gary understands the power of short motivational videos and emotionally charged content. One of our favorite recent pieces from him was “How To Lead A Team With Empathy,” where he talked about why he valued empathy and kindness over skill.

Bobbi Brown

Since founding her makeup empire in 1995, Bobbi Brown has become a leading voice in the movement for workplace equality and women’s rights. As the current CEO of Beauty Evolution, a lifestyle and content company, she understands the importance of killer social content and is definitely one of our favorite LinkedIn influencers.

One of our favorite posts from Bobbi? A picture of her as a young makeup artist with this description: “I’ve thrown this picture up before but it’s always a reminder of where I came from. I was a tough, passionate, dedicated makeup artist wannabe, constantly working to hone my skills. Some things don’t change. My words of advice for everyone who is working towards a dream, be a sponge, take risks, be kind, and don’t give up.”

Sallie Krawcheck

The CEO of Ellevest dishes out incredible content left and right. With her schedule and meteoric rise to the ranks of LinkedIn royalty, it’s impressive she takes the time to post content weekly for her over 2.5M followers. Keep an eye out for her short “Ask Sallie” videos, where she answers audience and followers questions in a quick 60 second video, or her #FinancialFeministFriday posts, where she celebrates successful women.

Adam Grant

With nearly 3 million followers, Adam Grant, who is an author and organizational psychologist at Wharton, has a massive LinkedIn audience. He posts great content about personal growth, psychology, leadership and success to LinkedIn, including one of our favorite quotes about compensation: “Dear managers: pay isn’t a carrot you dangle to motivate people. It’s a symbol of how much you value them. Motivate by designing meaningful jobs where people have freedom, mastery, connection, and impact. Appreciate by paying them well.” Follow Adam if you want inspirational quotes, hacks, and updates on his latest NY Times articles.

Richard Branson

A self-described “tie-loathing adventurer and thrill seeker,” Virgin Group’s founder has over 16 million followers on LinkedIn — a certified LinkedIn influencer. Branson posts about news centered around his company (obviously), tips for creating a successful business, and personal content about his daily life and routines. In our personal favorite article he shared, Branson mentions his morning routine: “I enjoy starting the day with exercise to get me motivated for the challenges ahead. If I am somewhere with a tennis court, I’ll generally play a hard couple of sets of tennis. If tennis isn’t an option, then I’ll go for a walk or a run, or jump on my bike. If I’m near the ocean, and there’s enough wind, I’ll go for a kitesurf.” Sounds like a good routine to us.
